Frequently asked questions.
What types of commissions do you do?
I love to do pet and landscape commissions. Please visit my portfolio to view some examples.
If you’re interested in commissioning a portrait of a person, please let me know – I’d be happy to discuss it.
What mediums do you use?
For landscapes, I generally work in acrylic on wood panel or canvas. For painted pet portraits, I work in acrylic on wood panel and for drawn pet portraits, I work in pencil crayon for coloured pieces and graphite for black and white. For examples, please see my Portfolio.
How do I order a commission?
You’ll need to provide a high resolution photo to work from, decide on the size and dimensions that you’d like and (if needed) decide on a background. To learn more about ordering and place an order, click here.
How much will it cost?
For pricing info, please click here to visit my pricing page.
How many times can I see the piece?
I’ll send a sketch to confirm the details that we’ve agreed to. If you’d like to see the completed piece before delivery, I’d be happy to send a picture – just let me know.
Do you take a deposit?
Yes, I take a 50% deposit once the details of the commission have been confirmed. The balance will then be paid upon completion and ahead of delivery (on an agreed upon date).
Do you ship?
If you live in the Lower Mainland, pick-up from my studio is free or the piece can be delivered for a $15 fee. If you’re outside the Lower Mainland, I will provide a rate based on your location.
How long will it take to complete a commission?
Normally, a commission requires roughly 3 weeks. However, if you need your piece completed sooner, please let me know.
What happens if I don’t like the piece?
I strive to keep my clients happy. If you’re not 100% pleased, we can discuss the details. However, changing elements of the piece can be a time consuming process. If you know that you’ll be particular about the details, I’d be happy to send progress photos along the way.
