Hi, I’m Lindsay. Thanks for visiting my site and for your interest in my work!
After having my two daughters, I decided not to return to the comfort of my existing career in communications and decided to follow my passion and pursue a career as an artist. As I started out on that journey, I realized how much commissioned work is something that had grown close to my heart. It’s incredibly satisfying to create artwork that’s tailored to what you’re looking for. A painting or drawing of something so personal as a much loved pet, family member or a favourite spot in the world is something that impacts people in a way that I hadn’t anticipated and it’s extremely rewarding. As a result, On the Bright Side Studio was born.
Why is it called On the Bright Side Studio? Well, the answer is three-fold. I wanted a business model that was focussed on the positive. The artwork that I’ve had the pleasure of creating on commission is often paying tribute to some positive element or memory in people’s lives. The art that I make is also literally a process of finding the light and dark in an image and the final piece. And lastly, with a laugh, it pays tribute to my family’s motto (following Monty Python’s lead) and regular toast at dinners to “always look on the bright side of life!”
Feel free to contact me if you have questions about the process, how it works and what’s involved. I hope to hear from you!
